 Our History

Saint James Church began life in 1985, as a call from God to its founding pastor. The Church's mission was to plant a multicultural church in Maricopa County's East Valley and its vision was to meet the community needs and to offer ministry to those searching for spiritual direction and development in their lives.

The church began as a few families meeting in their living rooms. As the congregation grew, it moved to a local school and then to a Jewish synagogue where it remained until 1990.  In 1991 the Lord provided property and multipurpose building on the corner of Rural and Warner in Tempe.  In 1999, a new educational wing was added.
